Safeguarding

At Bedford Greenacre we are committed to the ongoing safeguarding and protection of children.

Our Safeguarding and e-Safety policies apply to all adults, including volunteers, working in or on behalf of our School. We expect everyone working in or for our School to share responsibility for keeping children safe from harm and abuse and report any concerns to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).

Pupils are taught about how to stay safe, including staying safe online, through our PSHE and RSHE programmes of study. We also hold assemblies themed on a range of safeguarding matters throughout the academic year to re-enforce key messages and underpin the pupils learning. Assemblies are taken by members of key staff or by outside visitors such as the Bedfordshire Police or the NSPCC.

In order to promote a safe environment our staff recruitment policy and practices include checks on staff and regular visitors’ suitability, including criminal record checks from the Disclosure and Barring Service in accordance with current legislation.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Mrs Brewer and the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) Mr Robinson-Welsh provide advice and support to staff, pupils and parents on child protection and welfare matters.

If you have a concern, please speak to one of the Safeguarding or leadership team.

If your concern is outside of school hours, please feel free to e-mail the safeguarding team and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. However, if you feel it needs immediate attention, please contact one of the help lines below.
