I hope that the pupils enjoyed their half-term break and that our senior year groups did spare some time preparing for their end of year assessments, particularly the Year 10 cohort who are doing their first set of mock GCSEs over the next couple of weeks. Remember, in just 5 weeks from now all the hard work will have been worth it, with the summer holiday to look forward to! There is also plenty going on between now and then, with some year groups yet to embark on their residential trips, culture days planned, sports days and the usual end-of-year celebrations.
During half-term I stayed at home in Bedford, which is very unusual, but I have a daughter in Year 10, so we needed good internet for revision purposes and the coastline of my hometown in West Wales doesn’t always provide that! So, I do appreciate the disruption of encouraging your child to revise! However, staying in Bedford meant that I visited the new site a number of times for meetings. The walls are going up now and I just cannot believe the scale of the place! The electricians are already on site too, so everything keeps moving at pace. Whilst I was there, we had an unexpected visit from Christopher Young KC who won our legal appeal to secure planning; he was very impressed with the project and said how delighted he was to have been involved with it.
